Stedin is dealing with the energy transition. This transition is accompanied by a challenge: the current electricity network would not be able to cope with the amount of electricity which is used during peak hours, even when this network would be strengthened. This means that the energy infrastructure will be transformed significantly in the years ahead in order to make sustainable energy sources a reality.
We are therefore investing substantially in readying our gas and electricity grids for this. Albeit that current financial position and ability to invest are indicative for future growth and earning power, these financial indicators only provide limited insight on Stedin’s fitness for a future sustainable energy network. Financial statements increasingly include non-financial reporting measures in various degrees of transparency, e.g. customers satisfaction, CO2 footprint and network downtime. What non-financial reporting information to your opinion best indicates Stedin’s readiness for the energy transition with most stakeholder benefit and how would you measure that?
So are you a student that is interested in finance and accounting, then come and join our interview!
